News on Your Fund Surrey Project Proposals

On Friday 2nd September, the Your Fund Surrey team visited the Topping Out ceremony for the Normandy Shop and Café. This significant moment was celebrating the last tile being placed on the roof of the building. The project has received £517k in Your Fund Surrey funding towards this purpose-built, community owned, community managed shop and café which will sell local produce and act as a meeting point for residents.

Speaking with Bob Hutton, chair of the management committee for the project, he explained that Normandy “needs a hub. It needs somewhere for the community to meet.” This need has already been evidenced in the high weekly turnout of the market at the same location.
